We just celebrated our 14th year handing out Scholarships at Long Beach High School Senior Awards Night !
We request the students to submit an essay of who has inspired them or been their mentor thru the past years. Many students write about their coaches, teachers, guidance counselors. It's heart warming to read the ones that speak about their sibling or parent and appreciate how fortunate they are.
My hope is we all remember to continue to have a mentor and be a mentor. There's no age ceiling. Pay it forward, practice grace and kindness. Consider your actions. Everyone gets nervous, has anxiety. Even the ones that appear unscathed, they just have different coping skills. Always, always, ask for help.
